Hey, comedy nerds! There are shows every night in Atlanta but I’m gonna highlight a few that I think will be well worth your time. Y’all, ready?
Matt Braunger at Laughing Skull Lounge. Thurs., 4/19 – Sun., 4/22
The Big Dumb Animal is back! If you missed Matt Braunger last March do not fret, you have six chances to see him this weekend. A natural storyteller and an upbeat, good-natured jokesmith, Braunger is an absolute joy to watch. He’s released two-hour specials on Comedy Central and performed on “Conan,” “The Tonight Show,” “Letterman,” and more cool shit. He’ll be joined by local favorite David Perdue (not the senator), current Skull resident comic Kyle Gillis, and myself (hey!). More info.
Chad Daniels at The Punchline. Wed., 4/18
We got another special one-night-only affair at the Punchline this Wednesday night. Looking for some mid-week fun, go check out Chad Daniels. He’s appeared on “Conan,” “The Late Late Show,” and starred in his own Comedy Central half-hour special. More info.
Beer and Comedy Night at Sweetwater Brewery. Mon., 4/16
Atlanta has a ton of breweries, comedy shows, and comedy shows at breweries. Sweetwater is what started it all and this month Joe Pettis and Jeremy Mesi are celebrating 7 years of Beer and Comedy Night! Holy shit! Go celebrate and ruin your week before it starts this Monday. More info.
Of course, there’s plenty of other shows going on. Find more at atlantacomedy.tumblr.com.
