NERDY SOUTH: Thursday Edition

I don’t really have anything really witty or interesting to say right now. It’s Thursday and I can’t seem to drink enough coffee. Here’s a list of some cool stuff to do tonight, and it’s all in order of time. So, it’s possible that you could literally do all of these things tonight if you break a few road rules.

Movies in Central Park – Tremors (1990) at Atlantic Station – Thurs, 5/18 at 6pm

Movies in Central Park is going 90s!! This season, come out every Thursday night for a nostalgic glimpse back at a 90’s era favorite! This Week: Tremors. Starring a cast including Kevin Bacon and Reba McEntire, Tremors follows the people of a small, middle-of-nowhere town as they fight against mysterious underground creatures! The movie begins at sundown (usually around 8:30), but get there early to grab a good seat in Central Park.

Project Cosplay: Wonder Woman at Joystick Gamebar – Thurs, 5/18 at 9pm

I’d like to think of this event as the twisted version of Project Runway. Each month Candace Weslosky from Lips Down On Dixie leads teams of designers, models, judges, and the audience through a comedic Project Runway spoof design challenge. I’ve seen celebrity guest judges attend this show from time to time. It’s definitely worth stopping by to see who might show up. The design theme for this Month is Wonder Woman.
