Nerdy South: Feb 06-Feb 12

Welcome back! How about that game last night eh? I can’t believe we made it all the way to level 5 without getting shot once….Oh! I’m talking about HALO, what game were you thinking of? I did actually watch the Super Bowl, but my main interest was in the variety of snacks, and the BBQ ribs that my girlfriend made.

We have lot’s of great events to look forward to this week, especially over Valentine’s Day weekend. If you really wanna impress your significant other, then I would take them to see The Valentine’s Puckin’ Fuppet Show at The Village Theatre on Saturday night. After having Sunday morning brunch, I would suggest going to the Bizarre Bazaar at My Parents’ Basement to pick out some handmade gifts from a variety of vendors. Finally, you should wrap up the evening at Joystick Gamebar by checking out Home Brewed Short Films right before watching Atlanta’s Only Live Nerd/Pop Culture Talk Show, NerdLanta Live.

Alright, that’s it for this week! Have fun and stuff.

LOST in the Cosmos Opening weekend at Theatrical Outfit – Thur, 02/09 at 7:30pm

If Earthlings zoomed to a planet with intelligent life, would they let us land or label us a threat to a more-evolved universe? Walker Percy pondered such existential “what ifs” in Lost in the Cosmos: The Last Self Help Book. The Outfit’s Artistic Director, Tom Key, deftly re-imagines Percy’s opus as a soul-searching seminar where cheeky group leaders hilariously suggest alternatives to our everyday behavior. A wry and hopeful meditation on our obsessions with reality TV and politics, horoscopes and how-to guides, Lost in the Cosmos engages the mind, soul and funny bone.
