Comedy Highlights: March 6-12

Atlanta has one of the best damn comedy scenes in the country. If you’re looking to laugh (cause you’re probably already over soccer), check out one of these shows.

1. News Flash at Village Theatre – Thurs, 3/9 at 9pm

No such thing as a slow news day. Come see Atlanta comedians skewer all the craziest news headlines at News Flash at the Village Theatre’s side stage. Six comedians will duke it out for bragging rights and the title of March News Flash champion. Doors open at 8:45 pm. Tickets are $5.

2. Cocktails & Comedy at Pinewood – Thurs, 3/9 at 10pm

Joe Pettis and 1UP Comedy have a brand new show, and it it’s anything like all their other productions, it’s going to be a goddamn blast. This Thursday is the inaugural edition of Cocktails & Comedy at The Pinewood in Decatur, which will then take place every Thursday. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door and includes a cocktail. If you don’t drink, don’t worry, in lieu of a cocktail you will get $10 towards your tab. Doors open at 9:30pm.

3. Kira Soltanovich at Laughing Skull – Thurs thru Sun

Kira Soltanovich headlines six shows this weekend at the Midtown club. She’s performed “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Last Comic Standing,” “The Tonight Show,” and self-produced her first hour special, You Did This To Me, while she was seven months pregnant. Oh boy, it’s going to be a good week.
