Comedy Highlights: March 27 – April 2

Atlanta has one of the best damn comedy scenes in the country. If you’re looking to laugh (and get the fuck away from all this pollen!), check out one of these shows.

1. Star Bar – Mon, 3/27 at 9:30pm

Holy shit, this is gonna be good’un! We all know Monday nights at Star Bar are killer, but this week’s show is extra special. We have a flurry of funny friends dropping from out of town including some hilarious Denver mates like Sam Tallant, Nathan Lund, too name a few, as well as this month’s WonderComedy headliner Dave Ross! This show is free so what the hell kind of excuse do you have?!

2. Comedy on Draught at Three Taverns Brewery – Wed, 3/29 at 8:30pm

Annie Lockwood’s lovely Comedy on Draught is turning 1 year old! This great show is held at one of Atl’s most Instagram-worthy breweries, 4 Taverns Brewery. There will be delicous beer, The World Famous Pallokaville Corndog Wagon, and amazing stand-up from from some ATL babes plus Denver’s hilarious Pussy Bros (Rachel Weeks, Christie Buchele, Jenae Burris). Come celebrate with us. Doors open at 7pm. Tix are $15.

3. Gary Gulman at Laughing Skull – CANCELLED

UPDATE: Damn it, unfortunately, Gary Gulman had to reschedule and therefore will NOT be at the Skull this weekend. Instead, there will be six Best of ATL showcases so go to those because I said so.

4. Todd Barry at Relapse – 2 shows, Fri thru Sat

Another heavy hitter sweeps into town this week at Relapse. The quiet and deadpan Todd Barry will be in town for two shows. A Comedy Cellar regular, Barry has acted on HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords” and FX’s “Louie,” as well as releasing specials like “The Crowd Work Tour” on Netflix which consists of just – you guessed it – crowd work. One show each night, starts at 8pm, $20.

5. Cabbage Patch Comedy at Milltown Arms – Fri, 3/31 at 8:30pm

I really love this show and you will too. Cabbagetown has always been a great neighborhood for comedy and Milltown Arms has always been a great host. Local and out-of-town friends will strut their stuff this Friday for another great free show so you broke folks have something to do for a change. You’re welcome.
