Comedy Highlights: Jan. 23-29

Atlanta has one of the best damn comedy scenes in the country. If you’re looking to laugh, check out one of these shows.

1. Wake Up at Murmur – Thurs, 1/26 at 8:30pm

New Show Alert! Amber North and Krystle Pierce are teaming up for a new bi-weekly show for woke folks that love to laugh. Wake Up’s debut show is this week at Murmur featuring Wellington Juku, Shona Trumbo, and more comedians tackle every subject under the sun. First show will be for the special price of $0. Enjoy.

2. Cabbage Patch Comedy at Milltown Arms – Fri, 1/27 at 8:30pm

It’s the last Friday of the month which means Cabbagetown will be booming with folks looking for laughs. You can find them at Cabbage Patch Comedy at Milltown Arms. This has become one of the best new additions to the ATL comedy scene and you can see why yourself. Show is absolutely free so you can spend that cash at the bar.

3. Fourth and Five at Village Theatre – Fri, 1/27 at 9pm

David Perdue, Nathan Owens, and Damon Sumner bring their love of sports and comedy together on their podcast Fourth and Ten. Last month, the trio started a live show, Fourth and Five, at the Village Theatre to pair the best of the pod on stage with some of their favorite stand-ups. This month’s show will feature Dan Weeks, Greg Behrens, and probably some important Super Bowl talk (Go Falcons!). Doors open at 8:30pm; tickets are $8-10.

4. Grrrls Nite Out at Highland Ballroom – Sat, 1/28 at 9pm

The Highland Ballroom is gearing up to say Happy Birthday to Grrrls Nite Out. It’s been one year since Amber North brought this rad show to VaHi and she’s throwing quite the party. Local faves Paige Bowman, Cherith Fuller, and Ian Aber will be there slinging jokes with the great Jen Lenny closing us out. Be a part of the festivities. Doors open at 8pm. $10 admission; proceeds will benefit the ACLU.
