Comedy Highlights: April 3-9

Atlanta has one of the best damn comedy scenes in the country. If you’re looking to laugh (cause you still can’t find a Nintendo Switch), check out one of these shows.

1. STAND UP for Science at Highland Ballroom – Thurs, 4/6 at 8pm

Science, research, and facts are important no matter what angry sentient Cheeto says. This Thursday, comedians will hit the stage for a special show to raise funds for March for Science Atlanta. Come laugh and help make some good trouble. Tickets are $10.

2. Ladie’s Night at Village Theatre – Thurs, 4/6 at 10:30pm

Yea, so Thursday is a big night. Top off the night with sketches and stand-up at Ladie’s Night. StrucciMovies will be the feature group of the evening because Zach’s too busy getting engaged to everyone. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door.

3. Jerry Seinfeld at Fox Theatre – 2 shows, Fri, 4/7

I don’t really need to tell you who Jerry Seinfeld is (comedian, created a TV show in the ’90’s — Oops). If you’re a super fan, you have two chances to see the man himself live at the Fox Theatre. Shows are at 7pm and 10pm and there’s still some tickets left… but probably not for long.

4. Shane Torres at The Punchline – Sun, 4/9 at 9pm

When the news broke of this year’s line-up for Comedy Central half-hour specials, I was delighted to see so many amazing comics make the cut. One of those being the very funny Shane Torres. The NY via Portland comic has torn through our town before, crushing it at Star Bar the 1AM and everywhere else he goes. Now, you can go see him before he tapes his special at The Punchline.

Star Bar – Mon, 4/3 at 9:30pm
8-Bit Comedy at Joystick – Wed, 4/5 at 8:30pm
Cocktails & Comedy at Pinewood – Thurs, 4/6 at 9pm
Tom Rhodes at Laughing Skull – Thurs thru Sat
Thomas Dale at Punchline – Thurs thru Sun
Festival of Laughs at Philips Arena – Fri, 4/7 at 8pm
Ron White at Cobb Energy Centre – 2 shows, Sat, 4/8
1AM Secret Show at Smith’s Olde Bar – Sat, 4/8 at 1am
Son of a Ditch Tour at The Basement Theatre – Sun, 4/9 at 7pm
